Legal Agreement & Location Services
Location services must be enabled so we can generate AI-monitored safety alerts for your specific city, give accurate local recommendations, and power emergency SOS functionality. Without location access, some features may be limited or inaccurate.
AllHerTravel provides AI-generated and community-sourced safety information for informational purposes only. Always trust your instincts. In a life-threatening emergency, call local emergency services immediately. AllHerTravel is not liable for decisions made based on app content.
Your location data is used solely to deliver relevant local content and is never sold to third parties. By continuing, you agree to our Terms of Service, Safety Policy, and Privacy Policy.

AllHerTravel ("AllHerTravel," "we," "us") provides a mobile and web application designed to help women travel more safely, including AI-monitored safety alerts, an emergency SOS feature, a travel document vault, local venue discovery, a traveler directory and messaging, community reviews and check-ins, and AI-assisted travel tools. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Account information: name, email address, and password (handled securely by our authentication provider) when you register.
Location data: your device's GPS location when you use the SOS feature, so it can be shared with your chosen emergency contacts, and when you grant permission for location-aware features like nearby venue discovery, city safety alerts, and setting your current city on your Traveler Profile.
Emergency contacts: names, phone numbers, and email addresses you choose to add, used solely to deliver SOS and Safety Timer alerts on your behalf.
Travel documents: passport, visa, insurance, or vaccination records you choose to upload to your Docs Vault. These are sensitive personal documents — see Section 4 for how we protect them.
Trip details: destinations, dates, flight and hotel information you enter for trip planning.
Traveler profile & directory: your display name, home city, current city, bio, and profile photo. Separate settings in your profile control what's shared: "Show in Women Nearby directory" controls whether you appear in that search at all, and individual toggles for your location, favorited cities, city check-ins, bio, and photo control what other travelers can see about you if you do. Location, favorites, and check-in sharing are off by default — you choose to turn each on.
Messages: the content of direct messages you send to other users through the app. Messages are visible to you and the recipient.
Friend requests: when you send or receive a request to connect with another traveler, we store who sent it, who it's to, and its status (pending, accepted, or declined).
City check-ins and favorites: if you check in to a city or mark it as a favorite, we store that record. Whether it's visible to other travelers depends on your sharing settings above.
Community content: reviews, ratings, safety reports, and posts you choose to publish, which are visible to other users.
Reports & moderation: if you report a post, safety alert, profile, or message, we collect the reason and details you provide so our team can review it. We also keep a record of moderation actions (such as hiding content) taken in response.
AI assistant conversations: messages you send to our AI travel assistant ("Gia"), our AI Safety Assistant, and translator, which are processed by third-party AI providers to generate responses (see Section 5).
Push notification data: a device push token, so we can deliver safety alerts, trip reminders, and messages to your device if you enable notifications.
Payment information: if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card details on our servers.
Google Calendar (optional, not yet available): we plan to let you connect your Google Calendar to sync trip events. This feature is not live yet — no Google Calendar data is accessed or collected today. When it launches, we will access it only to create or sync events for the trips you ask us to sync, and won't read or collect your other calendar events.
Usage data: basic technical information such as device type and app interactions, used to maintain and improve the service.
We use your information to: provide and operate core features (SOS, Safety Timer, live location sharing, safety alerts, trip planning, the Women Nearby directory, messaging, translation); deliver AI-generated travel and safety assistance; process subscription payments; sync trips to Google Calendar once that optional feature becomes available and you choose to connect it; maintain the safety and integrity of community content, including reviewing reports and enforcing our Terms of Service and Safety Policy; send notifications you've enabled; communicate with you about your account or safety-relevant updates; and improve the app over time.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Travel documents, location data, emergency contact details, and messages are treated as sensitive information. Access to your Docs Vault is limited to your account, and on supported devices you can additionally lock it behind Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode — that authentication happens entirely on your device through Apple's or Google's operating system, and we never receive or store your biometric data. We recommend removing expired documents you no longer need. As with any cloud-connected app, no storage method is 100% secure, and we encourage you not to upload documents you consider extremely high-risk if lost.
To provide certain features, we share limited data with trusted service providers, including: our application hosting and database platform; AI providers that power the translator, travel assistant, and Safety Assistant (the text you submit to these features is sent to the AI provider to generate a response); email and push notification delivery services used to send SOS, Safety Timer, and other alerts; Google, once Google Calendar sync becomes available and you choose to connect it; and Stripe for subscription billing. Each provider only receives the data necessary to perform its function.
The SOS and Safety Timer features are designed to notify your chosen emergency contacts by email with your approximate location. They are best-effort features dependent on your device's location services, internet connectivity, and your contacts' email access — they are not a substitute for contacting local emergency services (such as 911, 112, or your local equivalent) in a life-threatening situation. Always contact local emergency services directly when possible. See our Safety Policy for more detail on how our safety features work.
You can access, update, or delete your trip data, documents, messages, and emergency contacts at any time from within the app. You can turn your Women Nearby directory visibility on or off from your Profile, and disconnect Google Calendar there once that feature is available. You can delete your account entirely from your Profile page, which removes your profile, trip, document, and directory data. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to request a copy of your data or object to certain processing. Contact us using the details in Section 10 to exercise these rights.
We retain your information for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the service. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we're required to retain it for legal or safety-related recordkeeping (for example, records of reports or moderation actions related to abuse).
